Hotel Engine adds veteran hires to lead finance and marketing

This past week, Hotel Engine welcomed Colt Starks (left picture) as Vice President of Finance and Greg Batchelor (right picture) as Vice President of Marketing. With these appointments, the company continues strengthening its Executive Leadership Team (ELT), supporting the expected growth in 2021. The new hires build on a record-setting 2020 in which the company marked five years in business, doubled its revenue and expanded its ELT.
Colt Starks, Vice President of Finance
Colt joined the Hotel Engine team on Jan. 11 after spending the last seven years at local tech companies of varying stages and industries. Most recently, he was the VP of Finance at Brandfolder, Inc., where he led the company’s G&A function prior to its acquisition by Smartsheet Inc in September 2020.
Born and raised in Denver, Colt graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in Finance. During non-Covid times, he enjoys trying new restaurants, playing poker, softball or trivia with friends and playing golf, even if it’s poorly by his own admission.
Greg Batchelor, Vice President of Marketing
Greg joined the team on Jan. 18 after relocating from Chicago to Denver last fall. With more than 20 years experience, he has strong credentials in the technology industry having worked at companies such as Oracle, Citrix, Cisco and NTT. Most recently, he headed global marketing at AB Tasty.
With a background that is Half English and half French, Greg considers himself a citizen of the world. Born in the UK, he has lived in multiple places, including Italy, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Hong Kong, France, Ireland, Netherlands as well as the United States for the last decade. He enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, cooking, skiing/snowboarding, and playing a lot of golf.
Audrey Fairbrother is the Content and SEO Manager at Hotel Engine. She spends her days writing about all things business travel, researching topics that are important to Hotel Engine’s audience and cultivating the company’s brand voice. When she’s not working, Audrey enjoys spending time with her family, and hiking in the nearby Rockies with her dog, Albie.
