Three New VPs Round Out Product Leadership Team
Hotel Engine has one core mission: delivering the best possible travel solution to our customers. To that end, we are tirelessly focused on improving our tech-driven user experience — which means building out our product and engineering team with world-class talent like the three new VPs we’re pleased to introduce.
Chas Peacock, VP of Platform Engineering, comes to Hotel Engine most recently from Apollo GraphQL; he has previously held engineering leadership roles at H-E-B and RetailMeNot. He brings decades of experience in developing cutting-edge technologies at global scale, and at Hotel Engine, his efforts are focused on making our software and our engineering teams faster, more efficient and more reliable.
“I was most excited about the opportunity to help the engineering team of a rapidly growing business draw from my experience to scale our engineering systems and practices,” Chas shared. He is based in Austin, TX, where he spends most of his free time building Legos, watching soccer and playing video games with his wife and two young sons — as well as working toward his lifelong goal of being a Jeopardy champion!
Christine Luo, VP of Product – Members, is an action-oriented product leader who draws from her experience at organizations including Wellfound, Indeed.com and OJO Labs. In addition to her extensive background in product management, she brings personal experience on the common pain points of business travel.
“I love working on problems that everyday consumers face, and as somebody who used to travel quite a bit for work myself, I dreaded the process of booking my work trip on Egencia,” she said. “Hotel Engine is tackling business travel with a traveler and admin-first approach, and being able to lead the charge on what that experience looks like really excites me.”
Christine lives in Austin, TX, with her husband. When she’s not focused on building “wow” worthy experiences for customers, she is an avid soccer player, skier and cyclist.
Vijay Ragavan is Hotel Engine’s new VP of Feature Engineering. He is focused on building a world-class user experience for both our customers and hotel partners, including personalizing applications for individual customer needs using cutting-edge AI technology. Prior to joining Hotel Engine, Vijay held engineering leadership positions at Scribd, Twenty and Postmates, and has cofounded two startups. Vijay’s expertise lies in building large-scale consumer applications, as well as developing highly motivated teams and effective partnerships.
“I am really excited about building a marketplace which helps companies as well as hotels uplevel their experience,” said Vijay. “Plus, the coworkers here are amazing — great group of folks who are dedicated to the cause and act like an owner to deliver the best possible customer experience.”
Vijay lives in Fremont, CA, with his wife and three children. His favorite pastimes with his family include swimming, hiking, board games and basketball. Vijay also has a passion for landscape photography, which he shares on his personal website.
