Denver CEO Dares Others to Dye Hair Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness
Elia Wallen, founder and CEO of Travelers Haven and Hotel Engine, joins the American Cancer Society’s Real Men Wear Pink campaign for October.
DENVER (September 21, 2017) – To join the fight against breast cancer, Elia Wallen, founder and CEO of Denver-based Travelers Haven and Hotel Engine, is challenging those at 25+ companies to temporarily dye their hair pink and/or donate to the American Cancer Society.
Companies and individuals can visit Wallen’s Real Men Wear Pink profile page to donate $100 or more toward his $2,500 goal. Hair dye participants are encouraged to post a photo on social media using the hashtag #RealMenWearPink to show off their pink locks and spread support for the cause.
Wallen hopes his competitive entrepreneurial spirit will help drive more attention to breast cancer awareness through this fun, engaging campaign. The more posts and shares on social media, the more money we’ll raise to help fight this terrible disease.
For Wallen, this is more than just a fun way to raise funds. About five years ago, his grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer. A few years later, his cousins, who are in their early twenties, were also diagnosed. Having survivors in his family keeps this cause near and dear to Wallen’s heart.
Wallen is proud to be an ambassador for the Real Men Wear Pink campaign. To further give back to the cause, Hotel Engine is currently working on a program with the American Cancer Society to help offset patient lodging costs.
The goal is $2,500, but we hope to reach $10,000 or more by involving the City of Denver and beyond.
