Hotel Engine Donates to ECPAT with American Airlines

Alongside American Airlines, Hotel Engine is proud to make a donation to ECPAT-USA, a part of a global network of organizations that systematically fights child sexual exploitation. The donation was made during the final event of the Global Business Travel Association’s (GBTA) 2018 Ladders Summit in Miami, Florida.

Ladders, GBTA’s unique mentor program, is a group of established and emerging leaders in the travel industry. Ladders mentors, mentees, alumni advisors, and leadership all meet once a year to collaborate and shape the evolution of the travel industry. From May 14-16, a mix of speakers, workshops, and activities connected GBTA Ladders members over industry-leading ideas and trends – all aligning to the theme of “Role of Buyers & Suppliers to Become Marketers, Salespeople, & Engagement Experts.”

Our own Andrea Allen, Global Account Executive for Hotel Engine, was in Miami for this year’s summit. On Wednesday, attendees banded together to volunteer with American Airlines in support of ECPAT and The Children’s Home Society of Florida. Together, they spent two hours packing backpacks with goodies and supplies for local Miami children in transition between foster care and their homes.

At the end of the event, Hotel Engine and American Airlines presented the donation to ECPAT’s Michelle Guelbart, Director of Private Sector Engagement.

“At a time when children continue to be bought and sold in the United States and around the world, it is heartening to receive this generous gift from our friends at Hotel Engine and American Airlines,” said Guelbart. “Their support is invaluable in ECPAT-USA’s work to end child trafficking, and we look forward to this vital work — together — to protect children from exploitation.”
