Year-long partnership with global reforestation nonprofit kicks off Hotel Engine's first-ever social responsibility initiative

Hotel Engine, an innovative technology platform for corporate hotel booking, today announced it will donate up to $250,000 to One Tree Planted in 2021. For every booking on its platform this year, Hotel Engine will contribute one tree, enabling as many as a quarter of a million trees to be planted across the United States.

“We’re thrilled to be able to offer this kind of support in our first year working with One Tree Planted,” said Elia Wallen, founder and CEO at Hotel Engine. “Together with our customers, we are proud to support incredible on-the-ground reforestation efforts in our home state of Colorado, which faces threats like drought, insect infestation and forest fires, and in California, which has been devastated by record-setting wildfires in recent years.”

“We are excited about this new partnership, and grateful for Hotel Engine’s contribution to extend our impact,” said Matt Hill, founder and Chief Environmental Evangelist at One Tree Planted. “Growing, young companies like Hotel Engine understand the urgent need to address the major causes of climate change, and are actively participating to ensure a better environment and healthier planet.”

The signature partnership with One Tree Planted kicks off the launch of Hotel Engine’s first-ever corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, which will focus its philanthropic giving across the areas of environment, women and children, and education. The company plans to announce additional partnerships and giving throughout the year. In the past, it has supported organizations such as Access Opportunity, American Cancer Society, Black Girl Ventures, Denver Children’s Home and Make-A-Wish Colorado.

“We’re fortunate to start 2021 on such a positive footing, and recognize that as we grow as a company, so does our responsibility to make a difference,” added Elia. “Our hope is to do more with not only One Tree Planted, but with other like-minded organizations that look at innovative ways to make the most direct impact, and to help those who need it most.”
