Today we’re thrilled to announce three new features to help our customers manage travel. Here are some of the new improvements you’ll see the next time you login to Hotel Engine:

Introducing Live Chat

Our customers come first. We want to make sure you have an incredible experience each time you book with Hotel Engine.

In fact, many of our feature improvements come directly from customer feedback. So we want to be sure you always have a direct line to our team – whether it’s to ask a question, offer feedback, or just say ‘hello.’

That’s one reason we recently introduced Live Chat for Hotel Engine Members. When you login to your account dashboard, you’ll now see a small live chat window at the bottom right of your screen:

You can use Live Chat during normal business hours to open a direct line to our Member Services team and get your questions answered more quickly.

Approvals for Direct Billing

Companies that enable our Direct Bill option enjoy the benefit of consolidated, monthly invoices. We’ve spoken to many customers with Direct Bill who want more control over their company’s travel expenses.

If you’re a Direct Bill customer, you can now require approval for all bookings. When you enable this feature, your Hotel Engine admins can view all pending bookings from employees, then verify or cancel them. This allows you to closely monitor your business’s monthly expenses prior to your monthly invoice arriving.

Improved Search Speed + Maps

Another common bit of feedback we’ve heard from our customers over the past year: “search is too slow.” We tested it, and saw that you were right – search did seem to be taking too long.

The root of the problem came from our previous maps provider. So we recently implemented new maps, powered by Mapbox and OpenStreetMap. When you do a search, you’ll now notice that results (and maps) load much faster.

Not only has speed improved, but the new maps also offer a Satellite view. This is super-useful for understanding nearby parking facilities and amenities before you book.
